Forestry:

Simpcw Resources Ltd. provides consulting and contracting services to Government, industry and the private sectors.

Some examples of projects include:

  • Full phase forestry development.
  • Contract administration/supervision.
  • Environmental Monitoring.
  • Logging, clearing, etc.
  • Silviculture, brushing, etc.

LOOKING AHEAD:

  • Simpcw First Nation awarded a new Cedar Hemlock Partition license in the Kamloops TSA.
  • Simpcw has a green wood License (FRO NRFL) of 150,000m3 over the next 4 years.
  • Simpcw will continue to expand the Resource Department to meet these needs and other opportunities.
  • Projected harvesting activities between 100,000 – 200,000m3 per year by Simpcw owned and local contractors.
  • Projected contract activities to increase with a recovery in the lumber markets and increased activity of Major licensees.
  • Hold an evergreen harvesting contract with major Forest licensees.

 

Simpcw Resources Ltd. will continue to competitively bid on contracts with industry and government. We foresee obtaining some of these contracts.

Project: Simpcw Fire Fighting Crews

Date: Summer 2010

Simpcw successfully implemented two 5 man crews for the 2010 Fire season. It is anticipated to begin the 2011 Fire season with two 5 man crews and could potentially expand depending on work load, etc.
