STOP THE SPREAD OF SPINY-RAY INVASIVE FISH SPECIES in the Thompson/Shuswap Region

 The Simpcw Fisheries Program is overseen by a band fisheries committee which includes:  member from Secwepemc Fisheries Commission staff; council member; hatchery manager; fisheries coordinator; sustainable resource manager and band manager. The main focus of the  committee is the conservation and management of any fish stock within the Simpcw Traditional Territory.   set up louis fence

 - Chinook enumeration program on Raft River, Finn Creek and Louis Creek 
 - Catch monitor throughout the whole territory  SFN Fish Mgt. Plan 2006
 - Stewardship program for the Upper Fraser River and North Thompson River watersheds
 - Barriere River selective harvest fence
 - Involving summer youth program and community membership in fisheries activities
 - Habitat restoration projects on a variety of streams in our area
 - Playing an active role in Neqweyqwelsten School cultural program
 - Working in partnership with the licensees & forest district located within our traditional territory
